FLARE

FLARE Overview

As a securities back office system, FLARE helps companies realize substantial increases in efficiency while keeping costs low.

  • Implements securities back office functions at low cost.
  • Provides a system that can be flexibly adapted to the full range of user firm sizes.
  • Provides real time transaction processing that will allow implementation of T+1 settlement.

Functionality

FLARE is a package that conforms to Japanese domestic legal and trading requirements, and which supports post-trade processing.

  • Shows data for executions, settlements, securities positions, and cash positions in real time. This will allow implementation of not just T+1, but also same day settlement.
  • Based on the component-oriented structure of the application, it can flexibly handle additions and changes in products, legal requirements, user screens, and forms.
  • Because it is equipped with standard interfaces, customization of interfaces to settlement and accounting systems (and others) can be accomplished quickly.
  • To enable automated processes, system functions are standardized and simplified to the greatest extent possible.

  • Ease of use is improved through a standard graphical user interface and menu settings, which can be customized by each user.
  • Through open database connectivity, users can download data directly from key databases.
  • Data can also be downloaded as CSV files for ease of use with other applications.

Technical Features

With FLARE, the server configuration can be chosen to fit the scale of the customer's overall business.

  • The number and types of servers can be selected based on the customer’s business requirements. This makes it possible to adjust hardware for optimum fit in order to match changes in business size in a very short time.
  • This application is built on an object-oriented foundation, so that compatibility with other object-oriented technology is high. This allows additional benefits such as dynamic load balancing.
  • Using an open platform and standard data format, such as CSV files, smooth system interconnectivity is achieved.

Operation and Support

Clients can choose to outsource their system operations, or to keep them in-house.

  • Clients can choose an operational model that fits with their existing infrastructure, using either their own facilities (machine rooms, data centers, etc.) or our ASP service center.
  • If clients use their own facilities, it is still possible for system issues to be addressed quickly using remote access.
